About your Teacher
Cheri’ McLean
Cheri is a multidisciplinary movement artist and athlete. Specializing in helping others reconnect and sense their bodies in space. Her teaching emphasizes how to properly use, load, and move functionally within one's own body.
Her queuing is her specialty, helping students really feel what it is they are doing no matter if it's a lunge, squat, or leg lift. Across all her offerings; classes, trainings, and 1:1 mentorships, Cheri’s work is guided by a sincere passion to help people live a more embodied life, truly being able to feel themselves in space.
Raised in Sonoma County California, Cheri is currently living in Thailand focusing on the creation of Your Pet Body. Working diligently towards creating a container that feels safe, informative, accessible, and fun.

This membership is for all bodies. Classes are organized by time, intensity, and discipline offering a variety of practices for different levels. Every member, no matter their fitness background, will find access to classes that match their current level and needs.

Overcoming the initial hurdle of starting is often the hardest part of any goal. By getting past hesitation and organizing your approach, you build the momentum required to comfortably finish the rest. That said I encourage you to take the leap and join the membership for a month. Give yourself some time to look through and try different styles of classes learning what your body and mind responds best to. Explore the other offerings beyond the fitness classes and participate in the community forum and resources to see if you connect with the other members and themes. Listen to your intuition.

All change requires consistency, though one's consistency looks different from another's depending on their specific goals.
Research shows you can maintain existing lean mass and strength with as little as 30 to 60 minutes of strength training per week.
For overall health, adults should aim for 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day, 5 days a week or 150 minutes total per week.
Remember you do not have to do your daily exercise all at one time. It can be broken up into 3 ten minute bouts throughout the day.

Bodies experiencing injuries or limitations will find plenty of classes designed to be supportive and scalable to meet your body where it's at. With a background in corrective exercise and experience working with diverse populations, Cheri is well equipped to guide you along your journey safely and successfully.
It is important to listen to the cues of your body, never forcing a range of motion or overloading the body too quickly. Classes will cue consistent reminders to assist you deeply in that communication between you and your body. Truly developing a sense of one’s healthy limits, loads, and ranges.

Classes are structured and organized by timeframes, intensity, discipline, and goals.
Classes range from 5 minute tune up or check in to an hour and a half class that includes a full warm up and cool down. Most classes are taught in a manner that most if not all levels are able to participate, with opportunities to fire it up or cool it down when needed. Offering different styles of movement to help you find what motivates your body and mind to move - from yoga, pilates, circuit, HITT, and more. Each class will have an aim towards a goal, such as restore and relax, strengthen and muscle gain, weight loss, abs & core, etc.

Your Pet Body offers members self agency in how they want to use their membership. Some may prefer to use their membership simply as a way to gain access to a variety of classes to meet their busy lifestyle. While other members benefit from the elements of the membership that foster community and connection through open forums, resource sharing, and more.

A Final Invitation
We have this one MORTAL body, it is truly the most precious thing, more than all else, it belongs to us. It is your dearest and most honest companion and ally.
So often our attention is stolen, manipulated and influenced to disapprove of our bodies. We all struggle with these ugly, internal dialogues of disconnect from ourselves, mirroring this energy back to ourselves as impacting the way we relate to our natural shapes, rhythms, and ways.
You and your body are precious.
This is our greatest vehicle in life.
Why then do so many of us struggle to celebrate all that we have inherited bybeing in a body and its capacity for life, expression, and experience?
I invite you with sincere urgency to reflect on your relationship to your body this month. No matter what has happened, is happening, or may happen in the future, how do you feel FOR your body? Why do you practice?
Let us shift the tide from practicing on improving the external to deepening the connection within. Let us practice learning our body's language, its senses, and what it enjoys and responds best to. Let us practice for a sense of return to ourselves, just the way we are; like the mother we all wish we had, that loves us unconditionally because her baby is an extension of her own being. Your body is a true extension of your being.
