Such a treat to connect with you!

My name is Cheri’.

I am your house of opposites, home of duality. Where there is an endless calling and song towards the merging, balancing, and alchemizing of all sides of the spectrum.

Where playfulness can merge with seriousness, deepening our devotion to ourselves, our community, this life, and eternal energy that animates all things.

My art of teaching is a lifetime's dedication to learning how to make all bodies within a space feel like they are in the right place. To equip them with a self knowing and understanding that cultivates confidence in what they are doing, and a sense of safety within the body.

Each body is working with the same intention while permitted to meet themselves where they are at, in that moment, moving away from the performative or peak pose mentality.

This is my most sincere aim in all of this. To help assist you back to your body, your truest home. To help you remember the language of your body, to hear your own inner whispering, and to truly meet yourself where you are at with love and commitment.

I am a forever student, cheerleader, Ally, and Confidant, here to assist in making the path towards change and growth more achievable and FUN!

As one who is interested in all things, and deem all subjects as useful I could never settle on one sport, subject, or practice. Giving myself permission to explore allowed me to cultivate a sense that the pursuit within one subject did not only result in growth within itself, its expansion was felt across the board, the body, the mind.

a real community

Community and Safety aren’t just buzzwords, they’re biologically hardwired needs.

I see more and more classes being added into the fitness bank that are geared towards lifting heavier, looking sexier, and higher intensity levels. Along with this trend comes higher amounts of body dysmorphia, injuries, exhaustion, spikes in cortisol, and a disconnect from our bodies.

This is not what fitness or wellness are to me.

I want to create a library of classes that teach people how to load and use their body while avoiding injury. How to find a posture and explore safely in and out of such posture.

A space where those who would enjoy sharing their experiences, their stories, their reflections have a place to communicate and share.

A place to share resources, books, articles, helping each other gain more and more access to things that foster inner peace, exploration, and play.

Your Pet Body is my invitation to foster a fit and healthy community built around integrity, kindness, and inner & outer strength. Where young & old, novice & devotee, bookworm & jock, serious & playful can all come together inclusively and cohesively like a REAL community, not a tailored one, not a niche demographic, but a motley crew of real people.

For all of us

Communities I have worked intimately with

  1. 01Ages 6–94
  2. 02High-performing athletes

  9. 09Adaptive

I want to create classes that make bodies from all different walks of life feel welcomed and relevant.

PRAISE

A Philosophy of Integration

What we consider incompatible, often has a deep mirroring.

We are multifaceted beings with multiple inner captains craving our attention and nurturing. We have an Intellectual Captain, an Emotional Captain, a Physical(body) Captain, and a Social Captain, to name a few. This idea of having multiple voices within has been with me since I can remember.

I was introduced to the 7 Dimensions of Wellness in my early 20s, Developed to promote well-being beyond just physical health, these interconnected areas help individuals manage stress, foster relationships, live sustainably, and find purpose. I found it a helpful tool to reflect and interact with this concept of different Realms of being. “The voices within.” I hope it helps foster a clearer look for you as well and helps us communicate throughout the journey.

The Seven Realms of Wellness

  • This is the area we often most associate with health as it is the physical body. This area includes discovery and development of optimal nutrition, exercise, flexibility, strength, endurance, adequate sleep and rest. A major path towards maintaining or working towards living independently.

  • Working with the nervous system, we focus on assisting our body out of the fight or flight state towards a balanced and relaxed state. Learning to live within our parasympathetic system. Here we learn to regulate the nervous system and our feelings, strengthening one's ability to cope with stress, and strengthening one's ability to be aware of our emotions and have the ability to work with and direct our emotions rather than our emotions running us.

  • Our spiritual well being takes many shapes and has many different names for each of us. Mainly, our spiritual wellness is centered around understanding our own meaning & purpose in this life. Working towards expanding our appreciation of life, and working towards self discovery or self actualization, in aim to live our life with meaning and purpose, guided by ones personal values and ethos.

  • A never ending attainment of knowledge, experience, and skill; Utilizing knowledge for the betterment of oneself, others and our environment. Engaging in creative pursuits and intellectually stimulating activities.

  • Achieved through communication and healthy relationships. Creating a balance of interdependence among self, family, friends, and life. A LEGITAMENT need for fun and leisure time to reconnect, reflect, and integrate. Fostering healthy friendships and relationships.

  • A balance of work & leisure. The ability to contribute one's knowledge and skills towards roles and responsibilities. Having work that holds us in our own ethos and value system.

  • Having a safe environment (Home/Neighborhood/Community) Access to healthy air, food, and water. A sense of safety in the places we frequent and live & work in. Deepening a relationship with the sense of the seven generations.

Your Pet Body offers a safe place  where one can explore, deepen, and assist one back towards a healthy connection with each of these realms and captains for a more holistic approach to our health and embodied sense of wellbeing.

There is so much noise, chaos, and dissociation happening in the world and hearts of beings right now. It is hard to ground within a true sense of safety at home, at work, in public, and even in private with our own company and thoughts.

It is of the utmost importance to not flee from the moment, from the body, nor the heart, as tempting as it may be. We need you. We need each other. We are all a victim to something or someone, but you are not a victim at root, you are something so extraordinarily powerful. We each have a dormant seed waiting to be awakened and brought to the surface.

It is my life's truest passion and aim to help you, others and myself connect to this part of us. I have dreamed of holding a container where likeminded curious and genuine beings can come together safely and explore with delight and ease all the different ways of connecting back to our captains, our roots, our truths.
